I loaded only one of our applications and I'm amazed at how incredibly slow this machine is. On a three year old i5 machine, the app opens in under 15 seconds. If I close the app and start it again, it's open in less than 3 seconds. Paint takes 10 seconds to load. I've disabled Intel Speedstep and didn't see any improvement. No other applications are loaded, including no antivirus. Rishi, Added a 2nd admin account, logged off, restarted, and logged in with test account. Still takes forever to load the application. Tried in Safe Mode and Safe Mode with Networking and this app won't operate. While in standard mode, the application takes just over 50 seconds to start. If I exit and wait a minute, I can start the app in under 3 seconds. Is there some type of caching setting that's causing the huge delay when initially starting an app on this machine? Could you disable all startup items in task manager and check if the app works fine? The first time any application is launched, it takes almost a minute before anything happens splash screen, etc. If the application is closed and then opened within a minute's time no rebootit opens in less than 3 seconds. Turning off all start up items has no effect. Again, same result when both modules were in place. Looks like one or both weren't fully seated. Not sure why this wasn't caught in diagnostics. Unfortunately for Dell, this answer came too late and I've already purchased, received, and started to distribute another brand of laptops to our employees.
